How was life like for the GDR citizens? What did they experience? What had an impact on them in the recent but still gone history? Since 20 years the series “Time Travel” which is part of the NDR Nordmagazin finds answers to these questions. Within this programme we learn about the “El Dorado” of nudism at the lake of Plaue, where modern minds realised their dream of a good life. Or the so-called “Raumerweiterungshallen”, a special construction system that gave space to kindergartens, ice cream parlors or “Konsum”. And about the dream of a socialist urbanism, that was realized in Neubrandenburg by a young woman who had to take a stand in a male domaine. Three short films, three time travels into the history of the 20th century.
