The film sketches the rough path of an adolescence trying not to lose control. It is the portrait of Espoir, a 18 years old, who lives in Lomé, the capital of Togo. With a hand camera, Rémi Jennequin follows his protagonist wherever he wants to take him. Espoir sets the frames in an elusive city - between friends, girlfriends and parties, he is seeking for desires and meaning. He wants to leave the camera behind. He doesn’t need to be staged. His desire for independence is strong. He is in fury, it growls deep inside him. That might be what keeps him alive.
