A documentary showing a Chinese investor‘s attempts to transform a small airport in the north-east of Germany into a major international air traffic hub. At Parchim International Airport we encounter stories from provincial Germany and China, as well as the future of ‘the global village’. Some desire fat profits while others simply a stable job. The clash between different worlds, lifestyles and beliefs unfolds here as a tragi-comedy about the bizarre reality of capitalism. Following Chinese investor Jonathan Pang in his pursuit of the expansion of the regional airport, we enter the milieu of nouveau riche Chinese businessmen, a friendly German district council, German parliamentary delegates and their complex networks. Shot over seven years.
